This program provides services to all students in the areas of academic development, social/personal skills and career awareness.

Our Dillard staff is excited to offer a variety of in school and after school clubs and activities. These include All County Chorus, Drums, Lego Club, Good News Club and Battle of the Books.

Dillard Elementary School, formerly Dillard Primary, is named in honor of John W. Dillard, a local educator and community leader. In the fall of 1977, Dillard opened its doors to 250 first grade students and a staff of 35. Kindergarten students were added four months later. This school was a consolidation of students from the kindergarten and first grade classes of Lassiter School in Madison and Elliott Duncan School in Mayodan. Second graders from the Madison area moved to Dillard Primary School in the fall of 1981. In 1991, second grade students from Mayodan enrolled. On January 30, 1992, Dillard's new addition was dedicated. This new wing houses the media center and four classrooms.  Fall of 2002 Dillard became a K-5 school. In July 2018, Dillard Elementary merged with New Vision Magnet School and was renamed John W. Dillard Academy. Dillard Academy operates on a hybrid schedule with extended breaks throughout the year.
